Analyze Customer Revenue and Inactivity From Google Sheets

Plenty of businesses keep their sales log in a spreadsheet. Revenow reads that sheet, works out who has stopped buying, and estimates what those customers could be worth, without you building formulas.

The Challenge for Google Sheets Users

A sheet of orders is easy to keep and hard to analyze. Answering "which regular customers haven't ordered lately?" means pivot tables, lookups and date maths that break the moment someone adds a column.

Customer retention in Google Sheets usually stops at a total-sales chart, so lapsed customers stay invisible.

Data You Need

  • One row per order or transaction
  • A customer column (name, email or ID) that is spelled consistently
  • An order date column in one consistent format
  • A revenue column with plain numbers
  • Optional: email, order ID, product, currency

Connecting Google Sheets

  1. In Revenow, choose Google Sheets and sign in with Google (read-only access).
  2. Pick one spreadsheet and the tab that holds your orders.
  3. Confirm the suggested column mapping for customer, date and revenue.
  4. Revenow imports the rows and keeps the analysis in sync. It never edits your sheet.

Prefer a one-off analysis? Download the sheet as CSV or XLSX and upload it instead.

The direct connection is set up after signing in and requires the Report plan or Pro. See pricing.

How Revenow Analyzes the Data

Revenow groups rows by customer and counts days from each customer's last order to the analysis reference date, using one fixed rule set (Generic 1.0): under 60 days active, 60–89 days at risk, 90+ days inactive.

At-risk customers carry an estimated revenue at risk; inactive customers an estimated recoverable revenue. Both are estimates from past purchases, kept separate.

All figures are estimates based on past activity, not guaranteed recovered revenue. Revenow doesn't contact customers for you.

Illustrative Example

Hypothetical business and figures.

A bakery supplier logs 2,400 orders from 180 cafés in a shared sheet. After connecting it, the analysis shows 22 cafés at risk and 15 inactive, ranked by what they used to spend, so the owner knows which calls to make first.

Who Benefits

  • Small teams whose order log already lives in Sheets
  • Wholesalers and service businesses without an e-commerce platform
  • Anyone consolidating exports from several tools into one sheet

Frequently Asked Questions

Does Revenow change my spreadsheet?

No. The connection is read-only; Revenow never edits, adds or deletes cells.

Can I connect several sheets?

The connection works with one spreadsheet at a time. Combine your orders into one tab for the clearest results.

My sheet has one row per customer, not per order. Does it work?

Revenow also accepts aggregated customer-level data, but per-order rows give more accurate recency and frequency.

Which plan do I need?

Connecting Google Sheets requires the Report or Pro plan. Uploading an exported file works on every plan, with the full report unlocked on a paid plan.
